Bike Servicing & Repairs In Gladstone

Bicycle Maintenance

Having repairs and servicing carried out on your bicycle is key to ensuring the longevity of the bike and your own safety for both on and off road riding. We recommend having your bike serviced when needed and at Gladstone Bicycle Centre, we have an A Grade bicycle mechanic who can carry out all repairs to keep your bike in top condition.

Along with doing repairs, tuning and servicing on bicycles and scooters, we can also fix mechanical medical aids such as wheelchairs and walkers. We carry many different replacement parts for bikes if you would prefer to do some of your own repairs, and we also do compliance and safety checks.

We service all bike brands and models, and we can get your bike fitted and set up with a range of accessories for comfort and safety—using our accessories or yours.

Free Servicing

When you buy a bicycle from us, you will automatically receive free servicing for the first 6 months. It usually takes a bike 6 months to settle in, during which time cables can stretch and other parts may need adjusting. We ask customers to bring their new bike back in 2 or 3 weeks for the first service, after that we like to see it once a month for that first 6 months. It will then be what we call ‘fully seated down’ and no more services are needed for a year.

We also work with the police for police engraving. This is where we take the customer’s name and birth date to create their own code. For example, Bob Jones born on 17/07/1959 would be BJ170759. We then engrave this on the bottom of the bike and this becomes the property number which is entered into the police data base.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is A Bicycle Service?

A bike service usually covers checking the condition and tension of all cables, the strength and condition of the frame, checking and adjusting the brakes and gears, inspecting, cleaning and lubricating the drivetrain.

My Bike Brakes Seem To Be Soft, What Do I Do?

The brake cable may need replacing or tightening, or the brake pads themselves may need to be replaced.

Why Don’t The Gears On My Bicycle Work?

The cables that control the gears may need tightening, adjusting or replacing. Cables can stretch over time which means the gears can’t then lock into place.
